Tips for Success
Bread Selection: Use slightly stale bread for better structure, or toast fresh bread lightly.
Pre-Crisp the Bacon: Partially cook the bacon before baking to ensure crispness without overbaking the eggs.
Custom Molds: Use a muffin tin or ramekins for even shaping. Grease the molds to prevent sticking.
Egg Texture: Adjust the baking time for runny or fully cooked yolks as desired.
Layer Strategically: Place cheese under the egg to prevent soggy bread.
Instructions
Preheat the Oven: Set the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Prepare Bread Cups: Trim the crusts off the bread slices and flatten them with a rolling pin. Press each slice into the cups of a greased muffin tin.
Layer Ingredients: Add a slice of cheese, followed by partially cooked bacon, into each bread cup.
Crack the Eggs: Gently crack an egg into each cup, ensuring the yolk stays intact. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and optional seasonings.
Bake: Place the muffin tin in the oven and bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the egg whites are set but the yolks are slightly runny (or longer for firm yolks).
Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven, garnish with parsley and green onions, and serve hot.
