Paula Deen’s 5-Minute Fudge

Ingredients:

2/3 cup evaporated milk
1 2/3 cups granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions:

Prepare the Pan:

Line an 8×8-inch square pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

Cook the Base Mixture:

In a medium saucepan, combine the evaporated milk, granulated sugar, and salt.
Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture comes to a rolling boil.
Continue boiling for 4-5 minutes, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens slightly.

Melt the Chocolate:

Remove the saucepan from heat and quickly stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips. Stir vigorously until the chocolate chips are completely melted and the mixture is smooth.

Pour and Set:

Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
Let the fudge cool at room temperature until set, or place it in the refrigerator for faster setting (about 1-2 hours).

Slice and Serve:

Once firm, cut the fudge into small squares and enjoy!
