Fluffy milk Bread

Ingredients:

For the dough:

• 3 cups all-purpose flour

• ¼ cup sugar

• 1 tsp salt

• 2¼ tsp yeast (1 sachet)

• 1 cup warm milk

• 1 egg

• ¼ cup butter (softened)

Instructions

  1. Activate yeast • Mix warm milk + yeast + 1 tbsp sugar • Let sit 5–10 mins until foamy
  2. Mix dough • In a bowl: flour, remaining sugar, salt • Add egg + yeast mixture • Mix into a soft dough
  3. Knead • Add butter gradually while kneading • Knead 10–15 mins until smooth and stretchy
  4. First rise • Cover and let rise for 1–1.5 hours (until doubled)
  5. Shape • Punch down • Divide and shape into balls or rolls • Place in greased pan
  6. Second rise • Let rise again for 30–45 minutes
  7. Bake • Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 20–25 minutes
  8. Finish • Brush with butter immediately after baking for that soft crust
