Ingredients
For the Chicken Filling
- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 cups marinara sauce
For the Cheese Mixture
- 1Β½ cups ricotta cheese
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- Β½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 egg
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
For Assembly
- 9β12 lasagna noodles, cooked
- Extra mozzarella and Parmesan cheese for topping
Instructions
1. Prepare the Chicken Filling
- Preheat the oven to 190Β°C (375Β°F).
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the onion until softened.
- Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Stir in the shredded chicken and marinara sauce.
- Simmer for 5 minutes, then remove from heat.
2. Prepare the Cheese Mixture
- In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, salt, and black pepper.
- Mix until smooth and well combined.
3. Assemble the Lasagna
- Lightly grease a 9Γ13-inch baking dish.
- Spread a thin layer of chicken sauce on the bottom.
- Arrange a layer of lasagna noodles.
- Spread half of the chicken mixture over the noodles.
- Add half of the ricotta mixture.
- Repeat the layers.
- Finish with a final layer of noodles and top generously with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
4. Bake
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil.
- Bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10β15 minutes, until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and golden.
5. Serve
- Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
- Serve warm with a fresh salad or garlic bread.
