Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup diced onion
1/2 cup diced green pepper
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon mustard
Salt and pepper to taste
4 slices of Texas toast garlic bread
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a large skillet over medium heat,
cook the ground beef until browned,
about 5-7 minutes.
Drain any excess fat.
Add the diced onion,
green pepper,
and garlic to the skillet.
Cook for another 3-4 minutes,
until the vegetables are tender.
Stir in the ketchup,
Worcestershire sauce,
brown sugar, mustard, salt, and pepper.
Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes,
until the mixture thickens.
While the sloppy joe mixture is simmering,
place the Texas toast garlic bread slices on a baking sheet and bake for 5-7 minutes,
until golden and crispy.
Spoon the sloppy joe mixture onto the toasted garlic bread slices,
then sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese.
Return to the oven for 3-5 minutes,
or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve hot.
