Jellied Cranberry Sauce

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)

  1. In a saucepan, combine water and sugar over medium heat.
  2. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely.
  3. Add the cranberries and bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer for 10–15 minutes until the cranberries burst and soften.
  5. Blend the mixture until smooth if you want a jelly texture.
  6. Strain through a fine sieve for an extra smooth result.
  7. Pour into a mold or container and refrigerate for several hours until firm.
  8. Slice and serve chilled.
