Ingredients:
- 1 kg chicken wings
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp chili flakes (optional)
For the Sauce:
- ½ cup BBQ sauce or hot sauce
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp butter, melted
- 1 tsp soy sauce
For Garnish:
- Chopped parsley
- Celery sticks (optional)
- Ranch or blue cheese dip (optional)
Method:
Step 1: Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 200°C.
- Wash and pat the chicken wings completely dry.
- Line a baking tray with parchment paper or place a wire rack over the tray.
Step 2: Season the Wings
- In a large bowl, combine the oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, oregano, and chili flakes.
- Add the chicken wings and toss until evenly coated.
Step 3: Bake
- Arrange the wings in a single layer on the prepared tray.
- Bake for 25 minutes.
- Turn the wings over and bake for another 20–25 minutes until golden and crispy.
Step 4: Prepare the Sauce
- In a saucepan, combine the BBQ sauce (or hot sauce), honey, melted butter, and soy sauce.
- Heat over low heat for 2–3 minutes, stirring until smooth.
Step 5: Coat the Wings
- Transfer the cooked wings to a large bowl.
- Pour the warm sauce over the wings.
- Toss gently until every wing is evenly coated.
Step 6: Chicken Wings Ready
- Arrange on a serving platter.
- Garnish with chopped parsley.
- Serve hot with celery sticks and ranch or blue cheese dip if desired.
