Ingredients:
For the Steak:
4 beef steaks (cube steak or round steak)
1 onion, sliced
2 tbsp flour
2 cups beef broth
Salt and black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
2 tbsp oil
For the Rice:
2 cups cooked white rice
For the Greens
1 bunch collard greens (or cabbage as a substitute)
1 onion, chopped
Salt and pepper
For the Cornbread:
Cornbread mix or homemade cornbread
Instructions:
Season the steaks with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Brown them in a skillet with oil, then remove.
Cook the onions until soft.
Sprinkle flour over the onions and stir for 1 minute.
Slowly add beef broth and stir until a gravy forms.
Return the steaks to the pan and simmer for 45β60 minutes until tender.
Serve over white rice with collard greens and a piece of cornbread.
