Ingredients:
- 10โ12 fresh habanero peppers, stemmed
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 cup white vinegar
- ยฝ cup water
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 1 tablespoon honey or sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ยฝ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro (optional)
Instructions:
- Heat the olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Add the onion and garlic and sautรฉ for 3โ4 minutes until softened.
- Add the habanero peppers and cook for another 2โ3 minutes.
- Pour in the vinegar, water, and lime juice.
- Add the honey, salt, and black pepper.
- Simmer for 10โ15 minutes until the peppers are tender.
- Let the mixture cool slightly.
- Transfer everything to a blender and blend until smooth.
- Add cilantro if using and blend again.
- Pour into sterilized bottles or jars and refrigerate.
Storage:
- Keeps in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.
- The flavor gets even better after 24โ48 hours.
