Sandwich with Mediterranean Steak and Veggies

Mediterranean comfort cuisine, featuring succulent meat, peppers, mushrooms, garlic, and melted cheese.

Ingredients (serves two to three)
Veggies and Steak

One pound of thinly cut flank or sirloin beef

Two tablespoons of virgin olive oil

One sliced green bell pepper

One sliced onion

One cup of sliced mushrooms

Three minced garlic cloves

Seasoning from the Mediterranean

One teaspoon of oregano

Half a teaspoon of cumin

1/2 tsp paprika, smoked

Black pepper and salt

Pinch chili flakes if you want

Cheese and Bread

Two to three tiny baguettes or crusty buns

Provolone or mozzarella (or halloumi for a real Mediterranean flair)

Optional chunks of feta

Sauce (Very Suggested)

Italian yogurt or labneh

Juice from lemons

Garlic

Olive oil

Instructions
First, sauté the vegetables.

In a skillet, heat the olive oil:

Sauté onions until they are tender.

Add the mushrooms and peppers.

Add oregano, salt, and pepper for seasoning.

Take out and place aside

  1. Prepare the steak

Within the same pan:

Increase the amount of olive oil a bit.

Quickly sear the beef over high heat.

Add the paprika, cumin, and garlic.

Add the vegetables again and stir.

  1. Put the Sandwich Together

Lightly toast the bread after slicing it.

Put the steak and vegetable mixture inside.

Add cheese on top.

For two to three minutes, broil until melted and bubbling
