This Salisbury steak dinner is a high protein slow cooker comfort meal with juicy patties rich onion gravy and classic hearty sides
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1/3 cup breadcrumbs
1 egg
1/2 onion finely diced
2 cloves garlic minced
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
1 cup beef broth
1 tbsp flour
1 large onion sliced
2 cups mashed potatoes
2 cups green beans
Directions:
In a bowl mix ground beef breadcrumbs egg diced onion garlic Worcestershire sauce salt and black pepper
Form mixture into oval patties
Heat olive oil in a skillet and sear patties until browned then transfer to the slow cooker
In the same skillet melt butter and cook sliced onions until soft and caramelized
Sprinkle flour over onions and stir for 1 minute
Slowly pour in beef broth stirring until smooth gravy forms
Pour onion gravy over patties in the slow cooker
Cover and cook on low for 3 to 4 hours until patties are tender
Serve Salisbury steak with mashed potatoes and green beans and spoon gravy over the top
