Golden, crunchy on the outside, and juicy on the inside—these homemade chicken strips are perfect for lunch, dinner, or as a party snack.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450 g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tbsp milk
- 2 cups breadcrumbs (or panko for extra crispiness)
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Chicken
Cut the chicken breasts into even strips and pat them dry with paper towels.
2. Season the Flour
In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
3. Prepare the Egg Wash
In a second bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until smooth.
4. Add the Breadcrumbs
Place the breadcrumbs in a third shallow bowl.
5. Coat the Chicken
- Dredge each chicken strip in the seasoned flour.
- Dip it into the egg mixture.
- Coat well with the breadcrumbs, pressing gently so they stick.
6. Fry
- Heat 2–3 inches of vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the chicken strips in batches for 4–6 minutes, turning once, until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Remove and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
7. Serve
Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces such as:
