Amish Hamburger Steak Bake

Ingredients:

  • 1½ lbs ground beef
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

For the sauce:

  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 onion, sliced (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. Shape the mixture into hamburger steak patties.
  4. Brown the patties in a skillet for 2–3 minutes per side.
  5. Place the browned patties into a baking dish. Add sliced onions if using.
  6. In a bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup with milk until smooth. Pour over the patties.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 30–40 minutes, until fully cooked and tender.
  8. Serve hot with mashed potatoes, rice, or vegetables.
